Supported internship students recently took part in a Dragon’s Den-style event which saw them design and pitch an entrepreneurial project to a panel of judges.

The students returned from placement to pitch their creative ideas, all in aid of developing their confidence and honing their presentation skills.   The panel featured Tim Landreth from Nuneaton Signs, Laura Shephard from the Leicester Riders and Nathan Nealon representing the college. The Dragons gave students some insightful feedback and conducted some one-on-one interviews to prepare them for job searching at the end of the programme.

Here are some of the amazing pitches our students presented:

MiChip

Connor, Warren and Kevin had the idea of implanting a small microchip in your hand. You could use this to open or close doors, complete contactless transactions, and a whole other range of features.

Supported Internships

Supported interns put their selling skills to the test and pitched their very own industry placement programme.  Letting the panel know what the benefits are and what they could gain from it as an employer. Kevin and Alex did a great job of showing the dragons what the benefit has been.

Life Work – Work Life

A fantastic board game all about the transition into the world of work. With a fully playable prototype, a very enjoyable project and great to see a mock-up of their idea. Very creative from Tom and Scott, interns at National Grid.

Travel Trouble

A board game all about travelling to different islands and completing adventures with friends. Some amazing details and excellent research skills with some amazing and original ideas and some great branding. NWSLC interns Micheal and Martelle did a fantastic job on this.
