The College also works with over 600 businesses across a wide range of sectors – working with organisations to determine their ‘training needs analysis’. We then design a programme to match your (the employer’s) requirements.

About Us Page

A warm welcome to NWSLC

Marion Plant OBEEvery year, over 90 per cent of our students leave us to progress on to higher education or into employment.
Ofsted rated us as ‘Good’ and we are proud of our very high levels of student success both in their qualifications and in many other areas. This includes the exceptional success of our students in skills competitions. Regarding NWSLC’s student behaviours and attitudes, Ofsted sees us as ‘Outstanding’.
All our students are encouraged to develop their skills through participating in competitions – at national and international levels. Last year, the success of students included Best College and seven gold medals in the Welsh International Culinary Championship. In addition, the success included five gold medals for digital film production and catering as part of the famous WorldSkills UK national finals.

Last year the College opened its newest campus, the MIRA Technology Institute located on the MIRA Technology Park. This highly progressive Institute was developed in partnership with HORIBA MIRA and three local universities (Leicester, Loughborough and Coventry). Students in this part of our college are studying to be the automotive engineers of the future, gaining skills for working with exciting new technologies such as electric vehicles and driverless cars.

Our plans to redevelop the Nuneaton site will lift the campus into a 21st-century digitally-enabled teaching centre of excellence.

At the heart of our college community sits a set of values:

  • Respect and Nurture
  • Inspire and Aspire
  • Be Agile and Responsive
  • Be Honest and Accountable

These values shape and guide how we behave. The generosity, care and compassion of our staff and students are reflected in our support for many charities as well as in the work we do within our local communities.

Whatever your starting point, we will do our very best to ensure you:
• Have the knowledge, skills and support you need to progress in your studies
• Move confidently on to either higher education, apprenticeships or into successful careers.

I look forward to seeing you soon.
