Competition successes for NWSLC’s photography students

Photography students from North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College are celebrating their competition successes by featuring in the UK’s leading photography festival, FORMAT Festival.

LCB Depot, as part of its creative talent development programme, put out an open call to FE and HE students working in photography across the county to respond to the festival theme, FOREVER/NOW for their chance to feature in the LCB Depot Exhibition, a part of FORMAT Festival.

Out of 300 submissions, a panel of photography professionals selected 22 pieces to feature in the exhibition. Three of NWSLC’s students had their work selected and are now featuring in the exciting display at LCB Depot, Leicester, March 15^th – Saturday April 13^th.

The success continued to spread among our Photography students, as a second competition, Young FORMAT19 also put out an open call for students to submit their photography creations as part of the festival.

The project asked young people under the age of 25 to submit their photos of their home and family; local community; spaces they enjoyed spending time in; favourite belongings and items they use on a daily basis… and the results were captivating!

Young FORMAT19 Festival will run from 15^th March – 14^th April at Derby Market Hall. You can find out more information here.

If you cannot make it to the exhibitions then don’t panic! All work will be brought to the Hinckley Campus for an end of year show, where you can view our student’s submissions, from Level 3 to HND. Stay tuned for an event date!
