College’s warwickshire campuses open doors to study options

North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College (NWSLC) is due to open its doors to prospective students so that they can see for themselves the opportunities available to get qualified, get promoted or start a new hobby.

The college’s Nuneaton and Harrowbrook Campuses will be open on Thursday 8 February 2023 from 5pm – 8pm enabling visitors to explore the latest study options and career opportunities. Whether they are thinking about choices post-16, contemplating a career change, wanting to upskill and get a new job, or enter higher education, tutors will be on hand to advise prospective students.

There will be ‘have a go’ activities for each curriculum area where visitors can find out more and try their hand at a range of skills. From exploring a photography studio to seeing an automotive engineering workshop in action, visitors can get a taste of what college life is all about. The event will include drop-in sessions with information on the costs of coming to college, student support and travel advice.

The event is part of National Apprenticeships Week (5-11 February 2024), an opportunity for colleges to celebrate the achievements of apprentices around the country and the positive impact they make to communities, businesses, and the wider economy.

Those visiting the Nuneaton Campus will have the opportunity to find about career options in business, childcare, the digital sector, engineering, hairdressing and beauty therapy, health and social care, hospitality and catering, motor vehicle including body and paint, uniformed services, sport and travel as well as a wide range of apprenticeships.

Harrowbrook Campus is home to the college’s construction, trades and logistics courses and simulates a real-life industry workplace. This campus is specifically designed to provide students with high-quality facilities and training in forklift truck driving, maintenance and repair, carpentry, brickwork, and multi-skills including painting, decorating, tiling, and plastering.

Study options have changed over the last few years and NWSLC has introduced many new ways to engage with skills training. We have developed our online learning which makes it easier for adults to engage in training and broadened our links with employers to offer more apprenticeships and workplace training. We specialise in automotive engineering, digital and creative, health and life sciences and logistics and can offer flexible options for re-skilling and renewing or changing careers.
