Staff at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College (NWSLC) will be pulling on their walking boots to hike the 16 miles between college campuses as part of the first Comic Relief Three Campus Challenge on Red Nose Day (Friday 18 March 2022).

Starting at the college’s Wigston Campus, the walkers will trek to the Hinckley Campus and finish their fund-raising challenge at the Nuneaton Campus.

Paul Sawyer, Learning Resources Facilitator at NWSLC said, “We are looking forward to taking on this challenge and raising some funds for Comic Relief. I first had the idea to organise a walk like this for myself after putting on weight during lockdown. I hadn’t been able to put my idea into place until all the restrictions were lifted. My colleagues have been really supportive and enthusiastic, and so I have extended the challenge for them to join me. The idea captured the imagination of the college and a large group of colleagues have now signed up to join me.”

Marion Plant, OBE FCGI, Principal and Chief Executive of NWSLC said, “I am delighted that the college community has stepped up to support Paul’s idea and give something back via Comic Relief especially at this difficult time when the charity is working to support the devastating impact of war in Ukraine. I wish everyone the best of the luck for the trek and look forward to welcoming them at their destination on Friday.”
