About me:
“I am a 21 year old photographer who currently resides in Cumbria. I have studied photography for 6 years and mainly focus on landscape and lifestyle, bringing dark and moody elements into my work. I am an avid outdoors user and frequently swim in the local lakes where I live. I chose to focus this project on outdoor open water swimming, and delve into portraiture, photographing swimmers and what swimming means to them”
About me:
“Through my years of studying and photographing not only have I grown as a photographer, but as a person. I have grown to be curious about the world we live in… constantly inspired by what life is or is meant to be.
Through my studying, I have truly taken a liking to Documentary photography / photojournalism. What I find most interesting about documentary photography is the fact that just one single image can tell you so much information, visual information that you can pick apart from the image and gather knowledge from. Through my creative eye, I want to travel the world and document things through my eyes, hopefully gaining a following and recognition from my work.
This is only the start of my journey but I’m willing to make it! And if I don’t make it, I will try my hardest to be able to make it and succeed in life.”

About me:
“My name is Natalie, I am 34 years old and for the past 5 years I have been studying photography here at NWSLC. About me:
“As a feminist artist, I use photography, mixed media, and writing to explore and raise awareness of inequality and injustice for women. My work focuses on the beauty of girlhood, healing your inner child, and the connection between femininity and the universe. Through my art, I hope to create a space where women of all ages can feel related to and understood, while also encouraging self-discovery, self-acceptance, and growth. I
want my audience to feel nostalgic and happy when viewing my work, reminding them that it’s okay to not have everything figured out and to take the time to heal and grow with themselves.
My art is primarily catered towards young women but is relatable to women of all ages
who are interested in feminist themes and self-development. By using mixed media and photography, I aim to create a unique visual experience that engages and empowers my audience. Overall, my art reflects my passion for feminism and my desire to inspire and empower women to embrace their authentic selves and grow”
About me:
“I am a creative photographer, specifically focusing on landscapes and nature. I create images that have very vivid colours and warm tones, which reflect the environments I photograph and the experience of being in those locations. Many of my images are made using the technique of in-camera multiple exposure, to combine and create intriguing landscape photographs”
