North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College is running an Infill programme for local students who are currently in years 10 and 11.

Available to start throughout the year, the programme allows students to study a qualification alongside their current school timetable.

As part of the programme, students will have the chance to choose from a range of vocational subjects; they will then take part in lessons at one of the College’s campuses. Qualifications range from certificates, through to Level 2 programmes which are equivalent to one GCSE.

Christopher Nixon, Director of Student Experience and Support at the College said: “This is an ideal option for those who already know their chosen career path as well as those who aren’t sure and would like a taster of different subjects. We have a wide range of courses available that will allow young people to really scope out what kind of industry they would like to work in. On top of this, they will get a taste of College life; experience what it is like to study in a further education environment and take advantage of our industry-standard facilities. The length of time needed in college per week will depend on the subject chosen and we work closely with schools to ensure the student’s current GCSE timetable is not disrupted.”

Subjects available include:

  • Art & Design
  • Construction
  • Engineering
  • Foundation Learning
  • Games Design
  • Hair & Beauty
  • Health & Social Care
  • Motor Vehicle
  • Music
  • Performing Arts
  • Sports

Locations depend on subject area, the College has campuses in Nuneaton and Wigston, as well as the Harrowbrook Campus – a dedicated Construction and Logistics facility and the Hinckley Campus, home to all creative arts courses.
