English And Maths Hub

Welcome to the home of all things English and Maths! Here, you will find information about how we integrate English and maths as part of your study program and how our English and maths team will support you throughout your studies.

North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College offer a range of English and Maths courses, giving you the opportunity to gain nationally-recognised qualifications.

Functional skills qualifications start from entry levels and offer progression up to level 2. There is a range of flexible courses which are delivered to meet your learning needs. The level 2 is nationally recognised and accepted by many employers and universities as an equivalent to the GCSE.

This is ideal if you have not studied English and Maths recently and would like to improve your skills. This could benefit someone who wishes to improve their job prospects and can be a pathway to GCSE courses.

Brush up your skills:

  • Stand-alone qualifications
  • Progression to further study
  • Suitable for all ages and abilities

We offer GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics. This course will suit a person who is confident in English or maths or who has recently achieved a level 2 Functional Skills. This is a demanding course that requires dedication. You will need to commit to 3 hours study at college with the expectation of homework. You will need to have an initial assessment score of level 2 to demonstrate you can cope with the demands of the course.

The English and Maths Hub

In addition to timetabled sessions, we offer additional support with English and Maths through our specialist area The English and Maths Hub.

This is an area open to everyone studying at the college run by a dedicated team. We offer tutor sessions with trained staff for some one-to-one or you can simply work in there quietly with support if you need it. You can get help with your studies, useful resources and guidance to our online resources.
