About

This course is designed to meet the needs of students wishing to work in a professional kitchen. It is designed to enhance and develop food preparation and cooking skills.

Modules

  • NVQ Level 2 in Food preparation and Cooking or equivalent
  • College Certificate Food Safety in Catering
  • Functional skills and/or GCSES at an appropriate level. Other opportunities include competition work.

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements are a relevant Level 1 qualification or 12-18 months of recent industry experience plus a reference.

Equipment

Kitchen uniform, basic knife set, probe, course book, stationery. The uniform will need to be purchased by the student. If financial assistance is needed, please contact our bursary team.

Next Steps

On successful completion of this course you may progress onto a Level 3 Diploma in Professional Cookery.
