This engaging and motivating qualification is generally aimed at learners 16-19 years old, who have a keen interest to learn about various types of vehicle accident repair and different roles that are available in the retail motor industry.


This qualification consists of a combination of units from:

  • Health and Safety practices
  • Foundation Skills
  • Personal Social Development (PSD)
  • MET (Mechanical Electrical Trim)
  • Body
  • Refinishing and valeting – valeting allowing learners the flexibility to develop their knowledge and skills across a range of different disciplines or focus on one specific discipline

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements are 3 GCSE’s at Grade 2 or above including English and Maths or progression from Entry 3 or a relevant Entry 3 qualification.


You will require steel toe cap boots, overalls, pen/pencil, notepad/folder and a memory stick. In addition, you will require an industry standard cartridge face mask, for application of certain materials. Air fed masks will be provided for use in the booth.

Next Steps

On successful completion of your study programme, including English and Maths, your next step will be to progress onto a level 2 study programme. To progress, your attendance must have been 85% or above.
