Level 3 Hospitality


This course is designed to meet the needs of students wishing to work in the front of house area of Hospitality at a Supervisor level. It will develop and enhance food and drink service skills along with their supervisory skills.

This qualification can help you to progress in a wide range of hospitality roles including bar staff and bar supervision, restaurant staff and restaurant supervision. Modules include prepare and serve cocktails, wines and food in a food service area, advising customers on matching beverages with food, barista skills, food and beverage service legislation as well as supervisory principles. You will also undertake assessments supervising work within our award-winning college restaurant as part of your qualification to give real work experience.


You will study:

  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Food and Beverage Service Supervision or equivalent
  • College certificate Food Safety in Catering
  • Functional /GCSE’S at an appropriate level
  • Other opportunities include competition work

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements are a relevant Level 2 qualification or 2-3 years of recent industry experience plus a reference and successful interview.


You will require a restaurant uniform. The uniform will need to be purchased by the student. If financial assistance is needed, please contact our bursary team.

Courses are free for 16-18 who have not studied higher than GCSEs. Even if you have studied a different course at college or sixth form, we may still be able to help.
