The clothing industry has always been important to the UK and the wool trade accounted for 80 per cent of British exports during the industrial revolution. The UK fashion industry is now worth around £26 billion to the economy providing 800,000 jobs making fashion our largest creative industry. Standout British fashion designers include Stella McCartneyVivienne Westwood and Alice Temperley. 

To work successfully in this sector, you will need to have developed a range of skills including excellent verbal communication, good design and IT skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will also need to show flexibility and ambition, and always be open to change. Our courses can help you to develop your career plan and your creative and artistic abilities whilst giving you the technical skills to bring your designs from imagination to reality.
