Apprenticeships

Business

Professional business services are essential to make any organisation run smoothly, efficiently, and profitably. Gaining a general qualification in business will provide you with a solid foundation and may lead you into specialising in finance, HR, or marketing. You could find yourself working within a large employer across a range of industry sectors, or take a leading role within an SME, or even at the helm of your very own business. UK entrepreneurs have developed lucrative business including:

  • Earth-i which deploys space satellites to produce images of the earth
  • RootWave which employs electricity to kill weeds
  • Alcove care-tech, helping older people remain independent in their own homes
  • Rubies in the Rubble, designed to reduce food waste
  • Nubian Skin, producing lingerie and hosiery in a range of diverse skin tones.

You will learn about the essential principles that underpin successful business from designing and marketing great products, building strong brands, developing, and nurturing productive teams, to getting the finances right and delivering a profit. Our business apprenticeships could help you to discover a passion for different aspects of business that might lead on to higher education in a specialist discipline or provide a springboard for promotion.
