James, from Wigston, has a long association with the College, having completed the HND in Computing as a teenager.
James had always enjoyed helping friends and family with their technology issues, so he decided to volunteer his services at the College, supporting students on the HND Computing course in the evenings after work.
Through his volunteering, James developed a passion for teaching and was soon offered a job at the College. He gained a PTTLS qualification and was eventually offered full-time employment, teaching creative computing and games design.
James continues to progress with his studies and is currently in the second year of a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training. He divides his time between South Leicestershire College where he works and the College’s Nuneaton campus where he studies. He finds the teaching staff at the College very supportive and enjoys working with them.
James plans to go on and study for an MA in the future and would consider a career in management but ideally would like to continue teaching as this is what he enjoys the most.
