Government support allows you to grow your own talent!

Government’s ‘Plan for Jobs’ is designed to get the economy back on track in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. This includes a package of measures to support, traineeships, industry placements and apprenticeships.

This scheme will fund the direct creation of high-quality jobs for young people at the highest risk of long-term unemployment. It will give young people the chance to build their confidence and skills in the workplace and to gain experience that will improve their chances of going on to find long-term, sustainable work.

Traineeships

The government will provide an additional £111 million this year for traineeships in England, to fund high-quality work placements and training for 16-24-year old’s. This funding is enough to triple participation in traineeships. For the first time ever, the government will fund employers who provide trainees with work experience, at a rate of £1,000 per trainee.

Apprenticeships

Employers are being provided with support to take on an apprentice, including a bonus of up to £2,000 in addition to the £1,000 incentive already in place to take on an apprentice aged 16-18.

Industry Placements

Employers can also now claim up to £750 to support costs for a total of 10 placements per business. This funding can cover administrative, training, and tangible costs required to support a placement student. NWSLC also have access to capacity and development fund that can further support expenses.
