North Warwickshire and Hinckley College is opening its doors to showcase its programmes for school leavers and inspire them with exciting future career options.

With the exam season now well underway, young people are turning their attention to what they will do in September after they have received their GCSE results, and the College is gearing up to provide advice on a wide range of possible next steps.

The event takes place between 5pm and 8pm at the College’s Nuneaton campus Tuesday, 19 June 2018.

Visitors to the event will be able to:

  • Find out how they can earn and learn with an Apprenticeship
  • Take a tour of our award-winning campus and see the facilities
  • Talk to tutors and students to get a feel for college life
  • Get impartial advice on careers and next steps.

Anita Ladva-Cheung, Marketing Manager, explained: “While our prospectus and website is packed with information and advice, there really is no substitute for seeing the College at first hand.

“Some students already have a clear idea of what they want to do next and are confidently on track to secure the grades they need. Others may be unsure of the right route to take. It is quite common for young people to visit us in the summer term and tell us they need help in making decisions about subjects and types of study.

“We often find that parents benefit from attending along with their sons and daughters because they can find out about alternative options such as Apprenticeships which suit young people who would rather start work immediately. Not everyone is aware that colleges are in touch with hundreds of local employers and can provide access to many exciting job opportunities.

“Our open event is perfect for students now taking GCSEs who want to explore their options, find out about exciting new courses and Apprenticeships, and learn from tutors who have experience working in their field. Further education provides an excellent springboard into worthwhile careers and our study programmes equip students with everything they need to thrive and succeed.”

At the event, students will enjoy a tour of the Nuneaton campus, get the chance to check out the facilities, talk to tutors and even meet current students who can tell them first-hand what college life is all about.

Whether they are thinking about choices post-16, contemplating a career change, wanting to upskill and get a new job, or enter higher education, tutors will be on hand with advice for everyone.

It is worth registering in advance because the 100th person to pre-register and attend the event will win a £20 Amazon voucher.
