Last year, The Britannia Shopping Centre in Hinckley launched a competition for local students to design its new logo. After a lengthy decision process, Panther Securities, who own the shopping centre, chose the winning design by Ryan Taylor, who was studying a Level 3 (equivalent to three A-Levels) in Graphic Design at our Hinckley Campus.

Second and third places were also secured by NWSLC students, Rory Burrows and Samuel Hemmings. All winners received cash prizes and the College was awarded £250 for submitting the winning design at the prize ceremony this week.

‘’Giving the students an opportunity to produce live work is a very valuable aspect of this course. It gives them real-life experiences by allowing them to work with actual clients and tight deadlines’’ said Tutor Dean Wood.

Ryan Taylor, who submitted the winning design, said ‘’ Meeting the clients was very exciting as well as the designing of the logo. This competition has allowed me to be more confident in my own work.’’
