North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College is urging Hinckley residents to help them name a new town-centre florist.

The shop will be opening at the College’s Creative Arts Campus in Lower Bond Street in September 2020.

The service will offer members of the public a range of floral services, including displays for all occasions including weddings and funerals. Dates and times will be confirmed closer to the time depending on lockdown restrictions.

The shop, previously named Budding Florists, was located at the College’s Nuneaton Campus but is moving as part of a launch to offer the provision from Hinckley. As a result, the College is looking for a fresh brand for the shop.

Carrie-Anne Abdulai, Director for Higher Education and Access to HE provision and Senior Manager at the Creative Arts Campus said: “We are extremely excited to be welcoming the Floristry department to Hinckley, the area is an absolute hub of creative activity and we feel that it will fit in perfectly. We hope that local residents and businesses will benefit from, and enjoy the services that the shop has to offer. After thinking about what we could call the shop we decided what better way than to ask the local community?”

Residents can submit their ideas by emailing their name, contact telephone number, postcode and suggested shop name, to: marketing@nwslc.ac.uk by Friday 17 July 2020.

Carrie-Anne added: “As well as the opening of the new shop, a new range of full-time and part time floristry courses will also be available from September 2020. The courses are ideal for green-fingered enthusiasts looking to start a career in the industry or simply take up a new hobby.”

For more information about full-time courses starting in September, email enquiries@nwslc.ac.uk
