What is an apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships are a great way to secure employment within the sector you want to work in. You will gain industry experience whilst working as a paid employee towards a qualification!

Why study a higher apprenticeship?

Studying a higher apprenticeship is a great way to earn and learn whilst gaining a higher level qualification. By choosing an apprenticeship you will have no university debts, you’ll have been earning for the length of your programme and you won’t have to pay any tuition fees.


How are they structured compared to university?

Higher and degree apprenticeships are available at levels 4 to 7 and combine work with study.

  • Levels 4 and 5 are equivalent to a Higher Education Certificate/ Diploma or a foundation degree
  • Level 6 is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree
  • Level 7 is equivalent to a Master’s degree
