What is a Pre-Apprenticeship Programme?

A pre-apprenticeship programme provides a great foundation and valuable first step to accessing the industry you want to work in. The programme will prepare you for the world of work, as well as experiencing first hand the working environment within your chosen industry. Additionally, you will have a head start and that will grant you a competitive edge when it comes to finding employment.

Hairdressing Pre-Apprenticeship Programme

The Hairdressing Pre-apprenticeship Programme will run for one day per week for 10 weeks. The first four weeks will be spent at the College (Nuneaton Campus), where you will study theory and have practical sessions in the college salons. The next four weeks will be based in a salon, gaining work experience, supported by a college assessor. You will then return to college for the final two weeks, to complete assessments in order to achieve the Level 1 Award in Hair & Beauty Skills.

The learner will also be supported and guided in applying for Apprenticeship vacancies via our trusted links with salons who are looking for Apprentices.
