Rocket Round Leicester is an exciting new project which aims to bring a bit of life and excitement to Leicester as well as raising funds for LOROS Hospice.
It’s a Public art event consisting of 40 giant and spectacular Rocket sculptures that will form a stunning, art trail through the city’s streets and open spaces, bringing the community together for an unforgettable event. NWSLC is proud to be the sponsor of one of these rockets which has been decorated by local artist Emma Everitt. The rocket conveys a simple message of ‘love, peace, kindness’ and is a nod towards the rainbows that we displayed in our windows to show our gratitude during lockdown.
In addition to Emma’s work, students from NWSLC and Midland Academies Trust Schools have designed and decorated mini rocket sculptures, known as Junior Jets, which will be installed around the city as part of the Rocket Trail whilst raising money for LOROS. NWSLC and Midland Academies Trust Schools have pledged to raise a combined total of £8000 for LOROS hospice, who deliver free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill patients and their families across Leicestershire and Rutland. You can donate here!
Visit the trail from the 19th of July where you can embark on an exciting adventure to find all 40 rockets and unlock exclusive rewards for visiting each one.
