NWSLC Enrolment 2020
Enrolment at College will be a little different this year as a result of the coronavirus, returning students and new students will be enrolled online and not face-to-face. We hope you are all looking forward to the new academic year and we look forward to welcoming you to North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College to support you to reach your goals and aspirations.
If you have been offered a place at College already, your place is guaranteed. However, if you have not done so already, please confirm you have accepted the offer made to you by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, quoting your name and date of birth, stating that you wish to accept your place.
How will you communicate with me?
We will use letters, emails and texts to communicate with you. It is really important that we have your up-to-date contact details. If you feel we do not, please confirm them by email to email@example.com quoting your name and date of birth, stating clearly your address (including postcode), phone number and email.
Further details about how to enrol online will be sent to every student as we get nearer to the time to enrol.
Can I still apply?
Yes, if you have not applied for a course yet but want to do so, it is not too late. Please search our courses on the website and when you have found the course you are interested in, click the ‘APPLY NOW’ button and follow the clear steps given, or simply on the ‘APPLY NOW’ button on this page. You will then be contacted by the College Admissions Team by telephone to arrange a telephone interview with the vocational area you have applied for.
I have some questions I would like to ask, are you still working?
Yes, we are still working and are happy to answer any questions you may have. Please contact the College Admissions Team by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone at 02476 243167 and they will either answer your questions or put you in contact with the best person able to answer your question.
Is there any other help I can access?
A good place to visit is our College website, it has lots of extra information and guidance to help and support you. However, if you feel vulnerable or unduly concerned, please contact a member of our safeguarding team via the email email@example.com and they will get in touch with you.
The College also has a bursary fund to support people who are in financial hardship and need help to access education. This includes help with travel, equipment, childcare and free college meals. If you would like more information, please visit https://www.nwslc.ac.uk/college-life/help-and-advice/financial-help/. If you have any specific questions, please email Bursary@nwslc.ac.uk and they will get in touch with you.
When does enrolment for new students start?
Enrolment starts on GCSE results day, Thursday 20th August 2020.
When you enrol you will have your induction confirmed and when you attend induction, you will be given your timetable.
Please be aware that social distancing rules are still likely to be in place and you will only be allowed on the College premises when you are timetabled to be on the campus you are studying at.
What if I don’t get the grades I hoped for?
If you don’t get the grades you hoped for, please do not worry, you will still have a place at College. During our enrolment period, starting on GCSE results day, there will be vocational tutors and advice and guidance specialists available to help you identify the best pathway for your studies at College. We understand that this can be a very uncertain time for students and will help you to make the choice that is right for you.
