HNC And HND Courses

Key Information

Higher National Certificates and Higher National Diplomas – an alternative choice to university that’s highly valued by employers.

If you know the career path you want to take and are looking to receive practical training in that field, then an HNC course or HND course could be the qualification for you.

Higher National Certificates and Higher National Diplomas are work-related qualifications, usually studied full or part-time over one or two years, that focus on vocational learning to help you gain the practical training and skills you need to progress into employment or go onto study at university.

What is the difference between an HNC course and an HND course?

An HNC course is equivalent to the first year of a full Bachelor degree at University and can take between one and two years to complete, whereas an HND course is equivalent to the second year of University study and can be converted to a full bachelor’s degree by studying a one-year top-up course.
