Higher Education Student Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning

The College has clearly documented minimum standard entry requirements for all higher education programmes. These minimum entry requirements are published on the College website and in the College prospectus.

The College is committed to giving full and fair consideration to all entry qualification information presented by individual applicants. Assessment of entry qualifications is carried out by qualified members of academic staff.

The College welcomes applications from those with previous academic credit, provided that it is clear that individual applicants have fulfilled some of the progression and assessment requirements of the course concerned by means other than attendance, and that they will be able, by completing the remaining requirements of the course, to fulfil the intended learning outcomes and attain the standards required for a particular award.

Students wishing to be considered for a transfer of previous academic credit should in the first instance contact the Higher Education Office at HEenquiries@nwslc.ac.uk prior to enrolment.

Students will be asked to provide sufficient evidence including all relevant certificates and/or academic transcripts for the transfer of credit to be considered.

All requests for transfer of previous academic credit will be assessed based on academic judgement by qualified members of academic staff in line with relevant awarding body policies and procedures.

For BTEC Higher National qualifications, please see the following guidance:

For franchised and/or validated undergraduate programmes, all requests for transfer of credit will be subject to the policy and procedure of the awarding university.
