Pre Access Course


This course is ideal if you are 19+ and do not currently have the required qualifications to go straight onto the Level 3 Access to Higher Education programme. It only takes one academic year to complete and is part-time, allowing you to have a flexible approach to studying with us! 

The course covers a range of topics in subject specifics of health science and study skills to prepare you for further study.  On completion, you will be awarded with a Level 2 Certificate in Health Professions. 

If you require your English and/or maths qualifications at level 2 before progressing ontan Access, you will need to apply for these courses separately.

Entry Requirements

You will need either functional skills or GCSEs in English and maths at grade G/1 or above. Upon application, you will have an interview with a member of the teaching team.

Next Steps

On completion, you can progress onto an Access course. You will need level 2 qualifications in both English and maths to progress onto an access course.

Mode of Study

This course is part-time for one year. You will have approximately 7 hours studying in class and you will be expected to do approximately 4 hours of studying outside of your classes.
