This programme focuses on music technology within the area of production. The course is aimed at students who do not wish to play an instrument or take the performance route but are keen to have a career in the more technical side of the music industry.

Therefore you do not necessarily need instrumental knowledge to be successful on this programme however you will be developing a wider understanding of musical theories to support your work within technology.

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements are 4 GCSE at Grade C/4 or above or a relevant Level 2 qualification


8Gb memory stick or portable hard drive; On or over ear headphones (not in ear/earbuds); Stationary to include paper, pencils (variety of colours), pens, ruler, rubber, sharpener etc.

Courses are free for 16-18 who have not studied higher than GCSEs. Even if you have studied a different course at college or sixth form, we may still be able to help. Share Course

Successful completion of the BTEC 90 Credit Diploma in Music Technology/Production may lead on to the BTEC Extended Diploma in Music Technology/Production and then university.
