Level 3 Media, Film And TV Production WIG

There is one learning and teaching module in the 540 Diploma – Exploring and Developing Creative Media Skills. You will develop and advance your media skills iteratively.

The learning and teaching module has two units: Skills Development and Creative Project. In these two units you will develop a variety of media skills such as: TV production, visual effects, photography, graphic design, journalism and audio production.

You will work on large-scale projects, in workshops (in our TV and radio studios) and on assignments, as the basis for generating evidence for assessment. You must complete all the two assessment units and achieve a Pass grade or above in each assessment criterion. The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National 540 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Media Practice is graded using an overall qualification grading of P to D*, attracting UCAS points in the same way as A-Level grades.

In the second year you will move onto the Extended Diploma and again take a module which has two units:

  • Personal Progression – You will develop an understanding of industry, employment roles and higher education routes and prepare progression materials relevant to your personal aims.
  • Creative Industry Response – You will develop advanced practical, critical and reflective skills to plan, prepare and develop a proposal for a response to an industry-relevant brief and carry it out from concept to resolution.
