Maintenance operatives are predominantly involved in engineering operations which are key to the success of the engineering and manufacturing sector. As an apprentice you will be involved in checking, repairing and servicing machinery, equipment, systems and infrastructures.

This apprenticeship will give you the knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be transferred across the manufacturing engineering sector.


  • Producing Components Using Hand fitting Techniques
  • Maintaining Mechanical Devices and Equipment
  • Fluid Power, Electronic Equipment & Systems
  • Engineering Maintenance Techniques & Planning
  • Mathematics and Science Principles
  • Electrical and Electronic Principles
  • Electrical Circuit Inspection, Testing and Fault Diagnosis

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements are a level 2 qualification in a relevant subject or relevant work experience depending on the employer.
