About

This qualification is a great introduction to IAG (Information, Advice and Guidance). It covers a range of topics such as confidentiality and accuracy of client records.

This course is suited to help careers advisors, guidance counsellors and anyone supporting in an education role.

You will learn about effective signposting, referral procedures, meeting the needs of clients, boundaries of the IAG role, complying with legislation, barriers that clients may face, challenging stereotyping, selecting appropriate resources for clients and more.

By completing this qualification, you will know the foundations to be able to put these skills in practice and understand how to support individuals.

On completion, you will be awarded with a Level 2 Certificate in Information, Advice and Guidance.

The qualification isn’t graded, but to be awarded with the certificate, learners must demonstrate their knowledge of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for the mandatory units.

Entry Requirements

You must be a British, EU or EEA citizen, had been a permanent resident of the UK, EU or EEA for the whole of the previous 3 years and aged 19 or over. If you are aged between 19 and 23, you must also hold a Level 2 qualification.

Equipment

If you choose to complete the course online, you will need a computer or a laptop with access to the internet. If not, you’ll just need writing materials for the postal work booklet (it helps to underline in pencil).
