Twenty-first century solutions for the automotive industry will take their place in history alongside the invention of radar in the twentieth century and the launch of Stephenson’s ‘Rocket’ in the nineteenth. The development of autonomous, connected, electric and shared vehicle technology, and the challenges brought by electrification, cybersecurity and emissions has an ever-increasing need for specialist skills in the UK automotive sector.

The MIRA Technology Institute (MTI) has welcomed the UK government’s decision to bring forward the ban on petrol and diesel engines to 2030 as part of what the Prime Minister has hailed a ‘green industrial revolution’The MTI is one of NWSLC’s campuses and it was built specially to help the automotive industry upskill in response to the rapid growth of electric and hybrid vehicles.
