About

Around half a million people work in the UK fashion industry which boasts trendsetting brands from Burberry, the highest value fashion brand, to Next, the biggest high street retailer. The UK produces world-class fashion designers from Vivienne Westwood to John Galliano and your training could lead you to rub shoulders with the greats at internationally-celebrated London Fashion Week.

Our facilities include a design and pattern studio, and machine room with 3-4-5 thread overlockers capable of producing industrial lock stitch and cover stitch. The course includes textile design, pattern cutting and garment production. You will research fashion brands and the latest high street trends, and see your designs come to life on the catwalk at the annual Fashion Show.

The Higher National Diploma in Fashion & Textiles is a 14 unit qualification of which 9 are core units. Initially, students will spend the first year studying Fashion and Textiles whereupon at the end of the first year, they will elect to specialise in one of these pathways for the second year of the programme.
