Access Health Care, access courses


This is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations and activities. It introduces you to the types of provision in the Health, Social Care and Children's and Young People's sectors. There will be an opportunity to spend four weeks in work placements relevant to your chosen career.

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements are 2 GCSE at Grade E/2 or above or an Entry 3 qualification.


Stationery equipment plus plastic wallets and a folder.

Next Steps

Successful completion of the course would enable the learner to apply for a Level 2 Childcare course (subject to Maths and English grades) or Health and Social Care course.

Courses are free for 16-18 who have not studied higher than GCSE's. Even if you have studied a different course at college or sixth form we may still be able to help.
