ABOUT

This course is a one-year programme in GCSE  English will prepare you to pass your exam and develop your skills and confidence in the subject. This qualification is an essential requirement for many careers and further study. Many adults join us with very little confidence but leave us feeling that they have made considerable progress throughout the year and have enjoyed their experience of learning.

During the year, we will cover both fiction & non-fiction texts, and you will learn how to understand and analyse them. You will be supported in developing your written work by learning about narratives, descriptions and writing to express an opinion. Some of the key aspects covered include the development of punctuation, spelling and grammar. If this is an area you struggle with, you will have the opportunity to build these skills as well.

The course includes extensive exam preparation, enabling you to feel ready and able to take the external exam with us next summer.
