About

This starter course will help you to learn about working in the construction industry. You will have hands-on sessions learning the basic skills of lots of different construction jobs.

Modules

  • Principles of building construction
  • Basic hand skills to produce timber joint and framework
  • Basic brickwork and blockwork projects
  • Basic floor and wall tiling
  • Basic painting and decorating
  • Health and Safety

Entry Requirements

GCSE grades of 1 or above in English and maths or equivalent.

Equipment

Learners will have to provide their own stationery equipment including writing paper, pens, HB and 2H pencils, Personal Protective equipment to include high-Vis vest, safety boots/shoes and recommended textbooks.
