About

This course is designed to give you the knowledge, understanding and skills that you need to prepare for employment within the engineering sector. It will appeal to you if you are interested in engineering tasks and how engineering products are designed and made.

Modules

Health and Safety in the Engineering Workplace; Specialist mandatory unit:

  • Electrical and Electronic Principles Specialist units
  • Mathematics for engineering operations
  • Mechanical principles and application
  • Engineering Design

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements are 4 GCSE at Grade C/4 or above or a relevant Level 2 qualification.

Equipment

General stationary including pens, paper, folders, plastic wallets and a calculator. Hand S equipment will also be required including steel toe capped boots and overalls.

Next Steps

After successful completion of this course you may transfer onto the 2nd year of the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering 180 credits) and then you may go to into higher education or into a specialist area of employment.
