Computer Maintainance


The City and Guilds level 1 and 2 Computer Maintenance course focuses primarily on computer hardware.

Students are taught to develop their practical and academic knowledge in computing with a variety of tasks designed to be informative and enjoyable.

Students will learn about the main components used to build a computer, and problems faced by all aspiring technicians.

The course covers both Level 1 and Level 2 in a single year so people with little or no knowledge of the subject have a realistic starting point for their future. The curriculum also covers the installation of various pieces of software and the use of diagnostic tools to further advance the relevance of the course when entering into employment.

  • Basic Principles of an ICT System and Data Security
  • Basic Maintenance ICT equipment and systems
  • Introduction to Testing ICT systems
  • Introduction to Customer services

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements are 4 GCSE at Grade D/3 or above or a relevant Level 1 qualification.
