About

In a society where awareness of mental health and wellbeing is rising, the government are now recognising the importance of the many benefits that complementary therapies have in supporting the above. Employers in different sectors recognise the need for therapists and this course, with progression to level 3, will give you the knowledge and technical ability to facilitate the growing demand for these skills.
Work experience is provided within the local community including hospices.

  • Aromatherapy using pre blended oils and blending techniques
  • Basic Reflexology of the foot
  • Basic Swedish massage
  • Seated workplace massage
  • Health and Safety
  • Basic business elements and awareness of other therapy models
  • Paraffin wax treatment
  • Healthy eating and wellbeing for the complementary therapy client
  • Anatomy and physiology

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements are 3 GCSE at Grade C/4 or above or a relevant Level 1 qualification.

Equipment

You will need to have the required uniform, materials and equipment in order to successfully complete this qualification. We advise that you purchase the specialised kit with us, order forms are provided upon a successful interview.

You will be required to wear your uniform and bring your equipment to all practical sessions; nails must be short and free of enamel and extensions, hair must be worn secured off the face and you are not permitted to wear any jewellery.

Next Steps

On successful completion you will be encouraged to progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies or more specific study in Beauty Therapy. This will then give you many and varied employment opportunities within the industry in Health Spas, Cruise Liners, Salons, Clinics and self employment.
