This popular course covers in detail the specialist vocational areas of beauty therapy ensuring that you are qualified in a wide range of treatments on completion of the course. The units are delivered in practical workshops and professional salon situations in conjunction with related theoretical study. This course also offers an involvement in add-on experience such as external company training, charity work and work experience with special populations.
Up to date specialist treatments including:
- facials, make-up, specialised lash and brow treatments, manicure, pedicure, waxing techniques and cosmetic tanning
- Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety, how to contribute to the running of a beauty business, reception duties and retail sales
Entry requirements are 4 GCSE at Grade D/3 or above or a relevant Level 1 qualification.
You will need to have the required uniform, materials and equipment in order to successfully complete this qualification. We advise that you purchase the specialised kit with us, order forms are provided upon a successful interview.
You will be required to wear your uniform and bring your equipment to all practical sessions; nails must be short and free of enamel and extensions, hair must be worn secured off the face and you are not permitted to wear any jewellery.
The qualification offers progression opportunities such as: Level 3 VRQ or NVQ in Beauty Therapy, Level 2 VRQ in Complementary Therapies, Level 2 NVQ or VRQ in Hairdressing.
Mode of Study
Courses are free for 16-18 who have not studied higher than GCSE's. Even if you have studied a different course at college or sixth form we may still be able to help.
