Why did you decide to study an apprenticeship?
One of the main reasons why I studied an apprenticeship in hairdressing is because it allowed me to gain skills and experience while working at a salon. This meant I was hands on and learning at the same time rather than being stuck in a classroom, which really helped in developing my knowledge. On top of that I was also getting paid at the same time so that was great.

What do you enjoy most about your apprenticeship?
Working at the salon has helped me to understand and appreciate what it takes to be a hairdresser. I work with some fantastic people, it is a fast paced environment and there is lots to learn but it certainly keeps me busy. On top of that I also get to meet lots of different and new people every day which is fantastic.

What are your plans once you finish your apprenticeship?
It has always been a dream of mine to work in hairdressing as a full-time hairdresser. There is lots of hard work that goes into being a hairdresser but it is definitely rewarding. I enjoy hairdressing, it is what I am most passionate and enthusiastic about and I would love to eventually own a salon and be my own boss.

What advice would you give to anyone considering an apprenticeship?
Studying an apprenticeship can be daunting but it is great as it enables you to gain experience, learn while you work, get paid for what you love doing and it also gives you confidence to work with people. I would advise anybody to study an apprenticeship, especially if you want to be more hands on and practical.
