From NWSLC we hope you had a wonderful Easter. As the summer term is fast approaching, we have many events running to support pupils with their post 16 options.
We are thinking of new and innovative ways to engage pupils with the use of virtual reality. If pupils are unable to come to the campus, then we will bring the experience to you.
NWSLC are really pleased to announce that we are now able to do school visits! If this is not suitable for your school, not a problem! You can still book a virtual session. We have lots of different support options available as shown below.
As usual, if you require support on something that is not mentioned in the below content then please get in contact with us and we will do what we can to help.
Following the new DfE guidelines on supporting schools with transactional support, we are working on a proposal. This will include schools and virtual content that you will be able to select from. Several schools have already been in contact with what support they would like to see or require. If you have any thoughts, please email them to us here!
We are now offering guided campus tours. Get in contact with us if you would like to book one!
Our next VOE is coming up, and the first 50 to register will receive a free headset to experience our VR tours. You can register by clicking here!
On the morning of Thursday 13th May 2021, NWSLC and MIRA Technology Institute will be teaming up with TeenTech to deliver an exciting virtual event on the future of technology, for Secondary Schools within North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire.
We have exciting employers involved and there will be a fun project to complete.
We are limited to which schools can be included as this is a council-funded event. If you would like to join the event get in contact with me here!
Alex Jones recently delivered a virtual alumnus talk to Thomas Estley and the pupils benefitted hugely, seeing someone’s progression following education! She is able to speak about her first-hand experience in completing a Level 3 Media course at the Wigston Campus and Events Apprenticeship at Nuneaton Campus. Get in contact with us if you would like to book one here!
You may have seen us recently on BBC midlands news delivering our brand-new headset tours. This is an engaging way for pupils to visit NWSLC’s Wigston and Hinckley campuses. Local schools have advised it is a nice change from pupil’s usual lessons and gives them a goal to work towards.
Students have said, “It is great to be able to see what the facilities are like at NWSLC and to see what a class is like”. “It has really made me think about what I can do after school”.
